Our Purpose
The Snake River Headwaters Watershed Group brings a broad coalition of partners together to ensure a resilient and healthy Snake River Headwaters ecosystem with clean and ample water to meet the needs of current and future generations.
Collaborating towards shared goals
The Snake River Headwaters Watershed Groups works together to achieve these 5 goals:
CONNECT - Build relationships, communicate, and coordinate activities to improve transparency, navigate conflicts, and build collaborative capacity
BUILD THE KNOWLEDGE BASE - Exchange knowledge and perspectives to enhance our collective understanding of the watershed
ENGAGE - Communicate what we are learning to support decision making and increase public awareness, engagement, and support for collaborative solutions
SET PRIORITIES - prioritize key issues affecting the watershed’s long term health & resilience, & strategies & resources to address them
ACT - engage in joint actions to address identified priorities & help ensure that there is clean & abundant water in the Snake River Headwaters watershed to sustain the needs of water users & the ecosystem into the future

Meet the Group
Our members and their various perspectives are at the core of this collaborative effort. Since its inception in 2023, the SRHWG has attracted over 100 organizations and 250 individual members representing government agencies, nonprofits, private businesses, local ranchers, irrigators, universities, and more.
The group is led by a steering committee of 15 representatives, who guide the direction of SRHWG activities and ensure continuous stakeholder involvement.
